Cha Tra Sing
A century of excellence from a family of tea merchants in Yaowarat.
"Tea-sipping happiness" is the philosophy that has guided Lim Miak Kee Tea House for generations, ensuring that every cup of tea brings joy to its drinkers. This legacy dates back to 2457 BE (1914) when Sampheng Sae Lim , the family's patriarch, fled wartime China and arrived in Siam.

Having grown up in a tea factory in Jieyang, Guangdong, Sampheng had spent his early years trading tea leaves. After years of odd jobs in Thailand, he returned to his roots, carrying baskets of tea through local communities before officially founding Lim Miak Kee Tea House (Cha Tra Sing) in 2475 BE (1932) behind Klang Hospital. Later, the shop relocated to Texas Alley in Yaowarat, where it still stands today, serving as a storefront, factory, and warehouse. The move came after the original warehouse was destroyed by bombings during the Greater East Asia War.
The tea house flourished, reaching customers across the country with an aggressive marketing approach—representatives personally traveled by train, catalog in hand, to bring tea directly to mom-and-pop stores. The three-story building became a hub for a vast selection of teas under various brands, including Singha Horse, Plum Blossom, Green Gourd, Golden Eagle, and the iconic Cha Tra Sing (Lion Brand). Their collection spans Thai tea for iced cha yen, red tea for lemon tea, green tea, Ceylon tea, bubble tea blends, and a wide range of Chinese teas, each with its own unique aroma and intensity. True to their motto, "A Century of Experience, Quality Guaranteed," Lim Miak Kee continues to set the standard for premium tea in Thailand.
The family’s ancestors were tea merchants in Jieyang, Guangdong Province.
Upon settling in Thailand, they initially sold tea door-to-door using carrying poles. Their first tea shop was destroyed by bombing during the war, leading them to relocate to Soi Texas, where the shop remains today.
Throughout a century, their dedication to selecting and serving quality tea to customers has remained unwavering.
