EARSAIR
The 100-Year-Old Chinese Herbal Medicine Shop of Talat Noi
When illness strikes, locals of Talat Noi have long trusted one name: Earsair, a Chinese herbal medicine shop that has been a health refuge since before World War II.
The shop was founded by a traditional Chinese medicine doctor who studied ancient medical practices and herbal remedies in mainland China before settling in Talat Noi, a historic Chinese neighborhood in Bangkok. In addition to selling herbal medicines, the doctor also provided pulse diagnosis (mae) and tongue examination, offering treatments rooted in ancient knowledge.
Thanks to accurate diagnoses and effective remedies, Earsair has been a trusted name in the community for over a century. Now in its fourth generation, the family continues to uphold the founder’s principles by sourcing high-quality ingredients and selling them at affordable prices. They’ve also adapted to modern times by transforming traditional herbal decoctions into capsules, producing portable herbal inhalers, and collaborating with contemporary designers to create herbal lozenges in various flavors. These lozenges, derived from authentic herbal blends, are sugar-free, flavorful, and easy to carry—offering a modern twist on their classic herbal drinks.
