Hadtakammakarn
The Original Sriracha Sauce That Captivated Thailand
Golden Medal Sriracha Chili Sauce by Hattakammakarn is none other than Thailand's very first Sriracha sauce! So flavorful, even a former Prime Minister couldn’t resist.
The brand name originates from the gold medal awarded to the creator, the mother of Grandpa Lakut Suwanprasop, at the inaugural Constitution Day celebration in 1932, marking Thailand's first year of democracy. The award guaranteed the taste and quality of her handcrafted Sriracha sauce.
What makes Hattakammakarn Sriracha Sauce unique is its artisanal process: using red Jinda chilies and Spur chilies sourced from Pak Khlong Talat, boiled and ground by hand using a traditional millstone. This method preserves the texture of the chili pulp. The flavor is perfected with just vinegar, salt, and sugar—no flour, which keeps the sauce light and versatile. Perfect for dipping meats and seafood or enhancing dishes like Pad Thai and noodles.
The sauce comes in two spice levels, mild and extra hot, and every bottle is free from MSG and preservatives. Each batch is made with the same care as it was 90 years ago, maintaining the family recipe. For an extra nostalgic touch, Grandpa Lakut himself hand-labels each bottle with the iconic gold medal seal.
The secret of Hadtakammakarn chili sauce lies in using red Jinda and Prik Chee Fah chilies sourced from Pak Khlong Talat, then simmering and grinding them with a traditional hand mill.
