Rumba Bor
A Fresh Take on Thailand’s Iconic Plastic Street Chairs—Stylish, Kitsch, and Sustainable
Rumba Bor is a design brand that transforms everyday Thai objects into something fresh, playful, and undeniably kitsch!

What was once considered outdated and mundane—like the PVC plastic chairs found at street food stalls or the Roman balustrades often used in Thai homes and temples—is reimagined into high-value, stylish pieces. At the heart of this reinvention is Rampa Paweenapongphat, who carefully selects recycled materials sourced from Bangkok to craft each piece. Take "Choei", for instance—made from recycled polypropylene (PP), each chair is individually cast using a mix of three primary colors, resulting in 9 unique colorways across 111 pieces, each with its own distinct color gradient. Or "Cherng", a table inspired by candle holders, combining elements of Roman columns, plastic chairs, and stainless steel 304 dead stock, ensuring durability and rust resistance.
These designs aren’t just eye-catching; they’re fully functional. Whether you need a sturdy chair for a hotpot gathering or a chic bedside table or display stand, Rumba Bor’s creations seamlessly blend practicality with artistic expression.
